This website was developed by the Partnership for Children & Youth (“PCY”). The website is designed to facilitate the exchange of ideas and information among peers involved or interested in community school strategies.
Users of the California Community Schools Network (“the Network”) Website should read the following Terms of Use (“Terms”) carefully. By using the Network website, you agree to abide by these Terms. As a user, you agree to use the Network website at your own risk subject at all times to these Terms. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to change, modify, add, or remove portions of these policies and notices at any time. You should refer to this page often for the latest changes to these Terms.
Disclaimer of Endorsement
The Network website contains information and documents from public and private organizations that may be useful to the reader. Inclusion of this information does not necessarily reflect the views of PCY, neither Network nor PCY endorses any products or services or views expressed by those public and/or private organizations. The Network or PCY will not assume or have any responsibility or liability for any information posted, or for any claims, damages, or losses resulting from the use or appearance of such information.
The documents posted on the Network website may contain hypertext links or pointers to information created and maintained by other public and private organizations. These links and pointers are provided for the User’s convenience. The Network website provides links to other websites. Links may be provided in many ways, including by the Network, PCY, and users of the site. Comment Policy
The opinions expressed on the Network website belong to the individuals who expressed them. They do belong to or represent views of the Network or PCY. PCY does not make any representations or guarantees regarding the truthfulness, accuracy, legality, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of any of the information posted by users, blogs created by users, or any other form of communications engaged in by users. We expect that users submitting comments will treat each other, as well as PCY and its employees and the Network, with respect. We do not edit comments to remove objectionable content prior to comments being posted, so users are required to ensure their comments contain none of the above. The Network has no obligation to screen communications or information in advance and is not responsible for screening or monitoring information posted by any User. However, both the Network and PCY reserve the right to edit or remove, in whole or in part, any information that is, in its discretion, unacceptable.
To protect your own privacy and the privacy of others, please do not include personally identifiable information, such as Social Security number or home address.
Users may not post comments or documents on this website for the purpose of submitting any claim, demand, informal or formal complaint, or any other form of legal and/or administrative notice or process, or for the exhaustion of any legal and/or administrative remedy. Further, comments posted by staff of the Network or PCY do not necessarily represent the views or official policy of PCY. Inquiries or comments regarding PCY’s policies or procedures on community school strategies should be submitted to info@cacommunityschools.org.
Users should not post comments or documents for the purpose of submitting unsolicited proposals. While users may post comments regarding opportunities to collaborate and coordinate on community school efforts, this site is not to be used for conducting commercial business.
PCY reserves the right to remove any user who repeatedly violates the comment policy.
Intellectual Property Rights
1. Third Party Materials
Information available on the Network website provided by outside organizations, authors, and other persons who are not employees of the Network and PCY may be protected under copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws of the United States, or other countries. It is the User’s responsibility to obtain licenses or permissions from the appropriate persons to use or copy these materials. If you believe that any material included on the website constitutes copyright or trademark infringement, or you believe that any intellectual property rights have been otherwise violated, please provide the following information to the Deanna Niebuhr at (510) 830-4200:
- A description of the intellectual property that you claim has been infringed;
- A description of where the material that you claim is infringing is located on the website; and
- A statement by you that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;

In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and other applicable law, PCY, in its sole discretion, will terminate a User’s access to the Site, if the User is deemed to be a repeat infringer. PCY may also, in its sole discretion, limit access to the Site and/or terminate access to the Site if a User is deemed to have infringed on the intellectual property rights of others, whether or not there is any repeat infringement.
2. Commercial Use
Under no circumstances will this site be used to promote or advertise third party services such as curriculum or services. If a user repeatedly advertises, promotes, or solicits members with products and/or services, the user will be removed from the Network.
3. Use of Network Logo
Only PCY are authorized to affix the Network logo, including any replicas or reproductions to documents, publications, electronic media, and any other materials. Any use or reproduction of the Network’s logo by any person or organization outside of PCY is prohibited absent prior express written authorization from the PCY. Requests to use the logo should be made in writing to the Partnership for Children & Youth, 1330 Broadway, Suite 601, Oakland, California 94612. The request must specify in detail exactly how the Network logo will be used. Any permission granted applies only to the specific use for which it was granted and is not to be construed as permission for any other use.
Privacy and Security Policy
If you are a Member
In order to become a Network Member, a certain amount of personal information about you, albeit limited, needs to be collated and stored. We value the personal information which we ask of you and which you choose to provide us with and we would like to assure you that the information which you have provided for this website is used by us in accordance with this Privacy Notice.
As a Network Member, your personal information will only be used by us for the following:
- To validate you as an individual who is eligible to participate in any activity and allow you access to the appropriate subscriber areas of the Network website.
- To place your name, contact details and limited professional details in the Member Directory.
- To inform you of Network activities which may be of interest to you in accordance with your professional profile.
- To enable other Network Members who have agreed to adhere to these Terms to contact you.
- To send you via email our periodic newsletters.
- Internal record keeping to improve the service.
Your being Network Member signifies your consent to our using the limited personal information which you provide in accordance with this Privacy Statement. Any third party sites linked to this website are not governed by this Privacy Statement.
A key feature of the Network website is the safe and trusted environment it offers enabling peers to share their knowledge and experience
Whether you are a Guest or a Member, we will not pass on your details to any third party, whether an organization or an individual, unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.
Should you wish to cancel your membership, you may do so by a simple request via email to info@cacommunityschools.org, whereupon all your details will be removed from our data base.
